2017 Event Write-Ups

The 2017 season began with the annual North East Bus & Coach Show. On the rally circuit this year from our Felling facility were group-owed Leyland Atlantean 290 (UVK290T), privately owned Leyland Atlantean 680 (GBB516K), privately owned Leyland Tiger C128KJO, Leyland Freighter F277CRH and NEBPT owned Dennis Dart 1723 (K723PNL).

NEBPT Bus & Coach Show 2017

On Sunday 30th April, we attended the annual North East Bus & Coach Show. This year, the rally saw a change of venue, with the event held at Spillers Wharf on Newcastle Quayside. The location made a much more picturesque setting for photographs.

We attended the event with Leyland Atlantean 290 (UVK290T), Leyland Atlantean 680 (GBB516K), Leyland Tiger (C128KJO) and Leyland Freighter recovery truck F277CRH. 680 appeared for the first time in it's freshly repainted Tyneside PTE livery, and we are very grateful for the kind comments about the decker. C128KJO and F277CRH are two recent additions to the Felling garage, both acquired from Ellie Rose of Hull at the start of the year.

The Felling gang were situated at the south side of the rally site, close to the site of the now demolished Spillers Flour Mill. THV would like to thank the NEBPT for the successful event, especially due to difficult circumstances and hurdles to get over with the relocation from the usual Metrocentre site in Dunston, Gateshead.

Morpeth Fair 2017

Once again, THV was invited to attend the annual Morpeth Fair Day. Morpeth Fair Day has been attracting visitors to the town for over 20 years. It is the Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade’s annual flagship event and regularly attracts over 30,000 visitors to the town. With plenty of entertainment, interesting stalls, displays, games, rides and activities, there is something for visitors of all ages to enjoy throughout the day.

A vintage Park and Ride service was provided by THV together with a few other local vehicle preservationists. The shuttle ran between the town's County Hall and the bus station. We provided recently repainted Atlantean 680 (GBB516K) and open-top Leyland Olympian H647BNL, which pitched up at THV for storage in April after being sold for a non-PSV use.

A successful day once again, the shuttle services were very popular, especially the open-topper in the splendid weather.
