We started the 2016 season with a bang with us presenting seven vehicles from our facility at the first event of the year - the North East Bus Preservation Trust's annual Metrocentre Bus & Coach show in Gateshead. On the rally circuit this year we had; Leyland Atlantean 356 (AVK176V), Leyland Olympian 922 (E922KYR), Leyland Olympian 680 (GBB516K), group-owned Leyland Atlantean 290 (UVK290T), Scania 413 (JFT413X), Leyland Olympian 613 (C613LFT) and NEBPT-owned Dennis Dart 1723 (K723PNL).
On Sunday 1st May 2016, Tyneside Heritage Vehicles attended the annual and much anticipated rally at the Metrocentre. The annual event hosted by the North East Bus Preservation Trust (NEBPT) attracts a wide selection of buses from the local and surrounding areas.
From our fleet we took along group owned Atlantean 290 (UVK290T), Scania 413 (JFT413X) and one of our latest acquisitions, Leyland Olympian 613 (C613LFT). In addition, privately owned Atlanteans 356 (AVK176V) and 680 (GBB516K), Dart 1723 (K723PNL) as well as newbie Bexleybus Leyland Olympian 922 (E922KYR). 613 and 922 in particular got the crowds talking.
680 was presented part-way through its latest full repaint, showing off the undercoat which would be the base of the Tyne & Wear PTE livery. 356, also part-way through its restoration, showcased the start of the iconic Busways Faresaver livery be applied.

For the second year we assisted with the annual Morpeth Fair Day. A number of vehicles were used on the free shuttle between the County Hall and the town's bus station. We took two vehicles from Felling to use on the service; group-owned former Busways Olympian 613 (C613LFT) and Bexleybus Olympian 693 (E922KYR).
The day was huge sucess as normal, with the event regularly attracting crowds of thousands - which was clear by the full loads we carried up and down the town. Attractions on the day ranged from entertainment stalls, displays, games and rides. Regular fixtures to the day included The Fun Run, Morpeth Parade, Turners Fun Fair, vintage car displays and an attractive spread of food and drink from local businesses.
Once again THV would like to thank Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade for wishing us to attend.
Date: Sunday 12th June 2016
Location: Morpeth Town Centre
On Sunday 19th June we attended the annual Durham rally at Howlands Park and Ride with former Busways Leyland Olympian 613 (C613LFT).
The event was organised and run on the day by the North East Bus Preservation Trust, and after issues last year with parking and space on the day, more of the site was available for owners and their vehicles - making photography much easier.
There were shuttles on hand taking members of the public to and from the City Centre making accessing the rally easy for all.
